I want to share something personal that’s been going on with my health. My kidney function has been declining, and my doctors have made it clear that I will eventually need a kidney transplant.
I am currently in need of a kidney transplant and will be sharing regular updates on my journey here. How You Can Help
If you’ve ever thought about organ donation or feel moved to explore the process of being a living donor, I encourage you to learn more. Testing to see if you’re a match is confidential, and even if you aren’t a match for me, you may be able to help another person waiting for a kidney through paired donation programs.
Here are a few ways you can take action:
• Learn about living kidney donation through trusted resources like the National Kidney Foundation or the American Transplant Foundation.
• Get tested as a potential donor if you feel called to take that step. The process starts with a simple health questionnaire. Tampa General Hospital Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program online questionnaire is available in English and Spanish
• Share my story—the more people who know, the better my chances of finding a match.
